Comprehensive Transformer Service, Repair & Rebuild Solutions

Circle C Transformers provides complete transformer life-cycle support — from maintenance and refurbishment to sustainable disposal. Our engineering team combines decades of experience with modern testing, drying, and rewinding technology to extend the service life of transformers across Australia’s power, mining, and industrial sectors.

Transformer Repair

At Circle C Transformers, our repair service focuses on restoring transformers to full operational reliability using a combination of advanced diagnostic tools and industry-approved repair processes. Each transformer is carefully inspected, cleaned, and tested to identify internal and external faults. Using vacuum drying and dehydrated insulating oil filling methods, we ensure the transformer’s insulation integrity is fully restored before reassembly. Our engineers use high-quality components and certified oils such as Mineral Oil, FR3™, BIO-Temp®, Silicone, and other specialised insulating fluids to meet client specifications. The final product is tested to AS/NZS 60076 standards, guaranteeing strong dielectric performance, reliable operation, and long-term durability.

Transformer Rewind & Remanufacture

When a transformer requires complete rebuilding due to coil damage, ageing, or insulation failure, Circle C offers full rewind and remanufacture services. The process begins with complete disassembly of the core and coil assembly, followed by verification of electrical parameters such as winding resistance, ratio accuracy, and insulation levels. Our winding team rewinds coils using copper or aluminium conductors depending on the original OEM design or customer requirement. Once rewinding is complete, cores are reassembled, leads are reconnected, and insulation materials are upgraded where needed. After assembly, every unit undergoes rigorous testing to validate electrical performance, thermal behaviour, and design compliance.

Transformer Overhaul & Refurbishment

Our overhaul service provides a complete renewal for ageing or damaged transformers. The process begins with draining and transporting the unit from site to our service facility. Once received, the transformer undergoes incoming testing to AS 60076 standards before being fully stripped down. All components—including tanks, radiators, and core assemblies—are cleaned using abrasive blasting techniques and then repainted with corrosion-resistant coatings as per AS/NZS 2312. Gaskets, seals, and hardware are replaced with high-quality neoprene and cork materials. Sludge removal, oil reclamation, vacuum drying, and insulation improvements are performed to restore the transformer’s internal health. If required, we modernise control systems, upgrade insulation, or modify the vector group. After reassembly, the unit undergoes complete outgoing testing before being delivered back to the site for commissioning.

Transformer Disposal & Recycling

Circle C also provides environmentally responsible transformer disposal services designed to meet Australian sustainability and regulatory standards. The process includes safe draining of insulating oil, followed by environmentally friendly oil filtration, recovery, or recycling based on condition and type. Metal components such as cores, tanks, and structural parts are dismantled and recycled through approved facilities. Reusable components, including obsolete parts that are no longer manufactured, are carefully recovered and stocked for future service requirements. All non-metallic, insulation, and hazardous materials are disposed of using licensed recycling partners to ensure minimal environmental impact. This complete disposal solution guarantees compliance, sustainability, and safe handling from start to finish.
